Betfred League One Preview | Round Two

Betfred League One Preview | Round Two

After one week way, Betfred League One makes its awaited return this weekend.

Four games will take place on Sunday 5 March, with all teams in action except for Workington Town and Cornwall.

Rochdale Hornets will finally begin their 2023 campaign when they welcome last season’s grand finalists Doncaster to the Crown Oil Arena. Gary Thornton’s side have impressed throughout pre-season, but standing in their way is the in-form Dons.

The visitors head into the fixture with two wins from as many games in 2023 after they defeated Hunslet 18-16 on the opening day of the league season, before triumphing against fellow third-tier side Oldham in Round Two of the Betfred Challenge Cup last weekend.

Oldham will also play their first game of the season this Sunday, when London Skolars are the visitors to the Vestacare Stadium.

Stuart Littler’s Roughyeds have recruited well in the off-season and will be hoping to bounce back from their loss at Doncaster last week. London Skolars, meanwhile, suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Workington in Round One, so will also be looking to return to winning ways this time around.

Elsewhere, Midlands Hurricanes travel to the Dewsbury Rams. Both sides are in good form after winning their last two games, but the Hurricanes will be without key player Elliot Wallis due to suspension.

Liam Finn’s Rams side have scored 38 points in both of their opening two fixtures so will be confident of producing another impressive display at the FLAIR Stadium this weekend.

Finally, Hunslet and North Wales Crusaders will meet at the South Leeds Stadium, with both sides aiming to earn their first league wins of 2023.
